What is OMIYAGE?
Omiyage is the gift or souvenir that you give to your co-workers, family and friends when returning from a trip. In the Philippines, we call it as “Pasalubong“. These are the products that are locally made in the certain place. For Japanese, the most memorable part of giving an omiyage is when you see the happy faces of the people that are connected to you. They would really appreciate it for remembering them while you’re away. Simple thing means really a lot.
1. Cheese Manjyuu – is the local sweet food and wrapped in western style dough in Miyazaki and has been everyone’s favorite omiyage for kids and even for adults. The richness of the cheese flavour made it really a buttery soft effect and it’s well baked that made people’s number one choice.
2. Mango Langue-De-Chat – The great and genius farmers in Miyazaki finally made a success in creating the very delicious mango in Japan. That is known for their brand as Sun Egg since the sweet level is well-controlled, so they use this rich natural mango flavour to make the Mango Langue De Chat crisp cookie with some cream and chocolate flavor that gives a very soothing taste the way it melts in your mouth. It’s perfect for your friends from other countries.
3. Smoked Chicken – The chicken in Miyazaki is very famous and is properly raised in the countryside with great breeding strategy, so we can really enjoy and ensure the safe white meat of this city. This smoked chicken is really my favorite dish because it’s very tasty and healthy. You can eat this in Japanese Izakaya Restaurant my recommended place where they served such a perfect mouthfeel taste of the smoked or charcoal chicken.
